MPR Chamber music albums

A series of previous undiscovered

MPR was started in 2014 by Mike Purton, a musician with a lifetime’s experience in many facets of the music world – performer, teacher, conductor, producer and editor. The label’s mission is to bring unfairly forgotten and overlooked music to life with the finest musicians and highest production values.

This series of  high quality, well-researched and stunningly performed recordings are instantly recognisable with their very distinctive silhouetted landscape designs. Each one has its own colour palette and showcases an aspect of the recording, such as the composers place of birth or inspiration for the music. The design reflects the quintessentially British nature of the series, reminiscent of the vintage travel poster era when much of the music was written.

These recordings needed to work together as a strongly branded set, while still retaining their individuality. Each has design roots based on a region of the country related to the music or composers, depicted in a silhouette style with limited colours, with a nod to vintage travel poster design.

‘The design reflects the quintessentially British nature of the series, reminiscent of the vintage travel poster era when much of the music was written.’
