Halstead Road Runners

Promotional material for running events

Halstead Road Runners is a club of around 150 members. They hold a number of social events for club members and running events, including a marathon, which requires publicity material. The club is friendly and welcoming to all ages and abilities and the inclusive and fun nature of the group needs to be apparent in the marketing material from the online social media through to posters, race number bibs, to marathon medals and shirts.

Halstead & Essex marathon a well established Essex marathon, is consistently voted one of the best marathons in the uk. Its rural setting in the beautiful countryside makes it a favourite for many runners. The course is tough and ‘undulating’ but the friendly marshal support along the route sees runners returning year after year.

The design for the 2024 finishers medal and vests were based on the silk moth. The Villages along the route have historically been involved with the silk and cloth industry brought to the area by the Courtauld family. They established mills in the area and many people were employed by them doing different parts of the silk making process. Their legacy can been seen along the route in the main buildings they erected and the style of architecture. The moth motif also represents the countryside and the freedom of running.

The design for the 2023 finishers medal and vests were based on the distinctive sign posts and countryside seen all the way around the route.

Social events for club members include beach runs, camping trips, awards nights, quiz nights, Boxing Day turkey trot, and summer runs.
